Home to the world s first skyscrapers and noted for its innovations in engineering and architectural design, Chicago rebounded from the Great Fire of 1871 in style. An aesthetically diverse collection of (now historic) buildings today rubs shoulders with distinctly modern structures, as Chicago s architectural identity continues its bold evolution. Native Chicagoan Eric Allix Rogers (b. 1985) photographed the twelve structures included here over a three-year period from 2014 to 2016. Rogers is the Open House Chicago Program Coordinator at Chicago Architecture Foundation.
