if the bubbles are released from the base of the tube :

1. it because which from water is too strong or less of pressure. could you pls adjust the co2 tank pressure. (maybe stronger or smaller).

2. pls adjust the position of diffuser (up or down), and pls make sure that put it to "upright" position.
