This bag was made with the outdoor enthusiast in mind. We started with 1000D Nylon and over-sized snag-free zippers. Then we added multiple pockets and sleeves to store all the adventure essentials. MOLLE webbing on the front and both sides ensures you have enough room to add more pouches and gear and secondary compression straps for holding on to an axe, hiking poles, saw, etc... There are several internal pockets and sleeves for maps and ID and there is even a pocket for a hydration bladder with an outlet on the top of the pack so you can stay hydrated on the trail. We decided that we needed to add just a little more volume to the pack so we created a modular expansion pack that can be mounted several different ways: attach it to the bottom of the bag, mount it to the waist belt, attach it to the side of the bag (mounts to compression straps), or even carry it on it's own on your belt. The axe head is hand-forged and made from Swedish axe steel in a foundry that has been in operation since 1697.
As part of the hand grinding production process, the steel is struck multiple times thereby increasing its density and resulting in more durability of the axe.
