When I was recently at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America), I loved the street crossing signs featuring a figure wearing a chef's toque in honor of the students and teachers there. It reminded me of a "Panther Crossing" sign I had seen once in the Everglades and gave me the idea for other possibilities. What could be more perfect than a glimpse of Santa in his sleigh at Christmas? To create the Santa crossing sign ornament, I adapted and printed it on heavy luster paper with archival inks, bonded it to hardwood, then cut it out by hand with my Excalibur scrolling saw. The ornament measures approximately 3&1/2" x 3&1/2" and is enameled gold on the back and sides. Santa Claus makes a wonderful gift for anyone who loves Christmas, as a hostess, grab bag gift, or present topper as well as on a Christmas tree. The ornament can also be personalized, made into a magnet or pin at no extra charge. Just ask! If you have another image you would like on the sign, let me know and I will make it for you.
