expensive but great
I have never paid super high prices for makeup. Perhaps mary kay occasionally. However I have oily, pale, acne prone skin that has a ruddy tint and I was always searching for a good foundation for me. One of the sephora reps matched me with another brand of foundation and I hated it! Made me look too pale, like a corpse. I returned it to another location and explained that even though I was fair, I didn't want to look like a corpse and that i wanted medium to full coverage. She brought out hourglass veil light beige 2. I couldn't believe i was about to pay 60 dollars for a bottle of foundation but she made it look great on me so I did. Now I am on my third or fourth bottle! I hate that it costs so much but it is perfect for my skin. I don't use the foundation brush, just a sponge or my fingers. Also you can get every drop out of it because the top unscrews and you can use a spatty or two q tips taped together to reach the bottom. Great stuff!
Holding on to Hourglass
I am currently 33 years old and have been searching... and searching... and searching... for a suitable foundation for my extremely sensitive, combination (oily t-zone and dry cheeks) skin.Initially, I tried high-end brands makeup such as Clarins, Clinique, Chanel. Then switched to mineral-based foundations such as Pur Minerals, Bare Escentuals, Chiiki Munki (by Skoah). Preferring liquid over powder-based foundation, my search began again with Josie Maran, Tarte, Urban Decay Naked. I hope you undestand my frustration by now... and the costs associated with all these trials.I stumbled upon Hourglass and received a sample from a service associate at Sephora. Package was great (for the price point I was paying), ingredients without parabens, phthalates, and nasty chemicals, good consistency for a liquid foundation, impressed with the coverage (medium to full, buildable) - even better coverage with primer, long coverage that lasts through my work day. I was still hesitant and expected this product to be to good to be true and waited for my skin irritations to begin. Surprisingly, after 2 weeks of application, my skin hasn't had any adverse reactions to this foundation. In short, I highly recommend this product for anyone who has sensitivities like me! Any person in my position, that I would pay almost anything for a good product!!
The best.
The friend who recommended this product to me is a professional makeup artist, she uses this foundation more than any other. I ordered it and am so happy that I did. I'm not much of a makeup wearer but I love this product. Some of things I love are the fact that it's free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and dyes etc. the coverage is absolutely amazing and you only have to use a VERY small amount. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is because it is quite expensive but that said, I will definitely keep buying this!
I loved it. I'm 55 years old and this foundation ...
I purchased this product from Sephora about a year ago. I loved it. I'm 55 years old and this foundation really feels good on your face and excellent coverage. When I returned to Sephora, they were no longer selling it. The salesgirl told me that the product was repacked and now was in this small tube. Everything on the tube was different than what I had purchased, but she was insistent. I was shocked that Hourglass was selling a small tube of foundation for $77. I ended up purchasing the other foundation in the silver cylinder tube. The Veil product lasted over a year and I still have some in the cylinder. The other one, didn't last long at all. I felt I was ripped off and very disappointed that Hourglass put out a product like that when the Veil Fluid foundation is so much better. I'm now buying it on Amazon. The price is higher, but I think I'll still get more out of it. I hope I don't have a problem as another person stated with it separating.

Hourglass Veil a messy product
The first time I bought this product was at Sephora. An Hourglass rep. taught me how to apply the Veil foundationwith the hourglass brush. I was very happy with this productat first, but it didn't last long. After a week of using Veil foundation the pump will not work well andliquid was separeated from the foundation.I thought that perhaps it was old. I couldn't return it ortake it to Sephora because I live abroad.I ordered again this time from an Amazon vendor and the samething happened. This foundation cost 65 dollars. I can't believeHourglass gets away selling a product like this.I am sure many people are unbhappy about it. I am gladthat they can return it to the stores. I can't. I will never buy itagain. It is very messy!
