It looks stunning along the inside of my box hedging. Tulips are at their best when 'mass planted' in groups or swathes, this will ensure their colour will have the most impact. Buy in bulk and save with this great deal. Flowers late season. 30-60cm H x 10-15cm W. Tulips (Tulipa) Situation: A sunny, well drained, moderately fertile position in cool to temperate climates. A partly shaded position in warmer areas. While Tulip bulbs have a self-contained food supply to begin with, they grow best with a little extra fertiliser. You can use fowl manure, cow manure, blood and bone or a balanced commercial fertiliser. Work the fertiliser into the soil about a month before planting. Don't worry if you miss the window; just add it to the top of the soil after planting.
