Description

These funky, tactile wooden building blocks from Grimm's are cut to look like giant faceted gemstones! Designed and handcrafted in Europe, these big, chunky blocks are fun to balance on one another, as children experiment with stacking on the various faceted edges. From age 1 year and up, these Colored Wooden Gems provide opportunities for kids to discover the fundamentals of balance, while using their creativity to work out solutions to which edges to use to stack. Made from FSC-certified (sustainably harvested) linden wood that is shaped, smoothed, then colored by hand in non-toxic water based stains, which leaves a pleasing matte finish that is perfect for stacking. This finish allows the natural wood grain to show through on the surface, and prevents the blocks from slipping when building structures. Each block measures approximately 7cm (2.8 in) in height, and 7-14cm (about 5.5 in) in length.
