Shungite is a 2 billion year old stone that is only found in one the Zazhoginsky deposit in the Karelia Region of Northwestern Russia. In history, Peter the Great of Russia turned springs in the region where shungite was present into the first health spas. People in the region have always used shungite in their water and seen its benefits for centuries without fully understanding the reason why.
