What does the "S" mean in PC2-5300S? This just means "SODIMM", which means it is memory for a laptop. It is just a marketing thing. You laptop can take PC2-5300S or PC2-5300.

Can I mix-and-match PC2-5300 and PC2-6400 on the same laptop? Yes, as long as your laptop can handle PC2-6400 you can mix-and-match. The only difference is the speed of the RAM, so if you have 1 stick of each in your laptop it would just work at the lower speed.

How many GB of RAM can my laptop have? Usually 5 GB total, but some take 8 GB. Check with your laptop manufacturer
