It's not easy to drill accurate hinge-screw pilot holes when you are installing hinges. More often than not the holes are off center and the screws go in crooked.

How do the pros install hinges so that they are perfectly aligned, and all of the screw heads are seated properly? They use a tool called a self-centering bit.

This 7pc-set of Migiwata self-centering hinge drill bits eliminate this problem. They feature a conical nosepiece that guides the drill to make a perfectly centered pilot hole.
If the nosepiece becomes clogged with wood shavings simply loosen the bit casing by hand and the clogged shavings will come out.
