Description

The YG-1 E1072 uncoated high-speed steel extra-long-length square nose end mill has a 42-degree helix angle, two flutes, and a center-cutting design for general-purpose machining on aluminum and other nonferrous materials. The 42-degree helix angle offers increased cutting action compared to end mills with lower helix angles, as it moves excess material quickly up the spiral and away from the workpiece. Extra-long-length end mills have longer cutting edges than long-length end mills for applications with a high depth of cut. (Feed should be reduced by around 50%.) The two flutes have better chip-carrying capacity than end mills with more flutes while offering additional support when the tool goes deep into the material in applications with a high depth of cut. The center-cutting design has cutting teeth at the end of the tool, so it can be fed into the workpiece like a drill bit for applications. The tools square end creates sharp, unrounded cuts.

High-speed steel (HSS) is a common general-purpose steel for cutting tools. This tool has no coating or surface treatment. Cutting diameter tolerance is + 0.0010 to - 0.0000" for end mills with a different shank and cutting diameter and + 0.0015 to - 0.0000" for end mills with the same shank and cutting diameter. The tool has a Weldon shank.
