This professional 6 piece micro detailed carving chisel set is made by a small and highly respected tool manufacturer in the Czech Republic and is of exceptional quality. The set contains 8 tools: 2 knives (straight dual bevel and skew dual bevel), 8 mm flat chisel, 4 gouges (2 mm half round, 3 mm half round, 4 mm standard gouge and 5 mm shallow gouge) and a 5 mm V tool. Knife blades are made from Manganese-Vanadium tool steel and heat treated to a hardness of 60-62 HRc. Carving tool blades are made from chrome-silicon alloy steel and heat treated for hardness of 59HRc. The edges are sharpened and lapped with abrasive paste and an Arkansas stone. Handles are made of stained and waxed European beach wood. Knife blades are 40 mm (1 5/8 inches) long x 12 mm (1/2 inch) wide. Carving blades are are 40 mm (1 5/8 inches) long. This chisel set is an excellent value for professional quality tools and will make the perfect starter carving set or addition to an existing set.
