Description

Diffusion Oxygen Stone - 2 Micron - 1/4" Flare Thread Connection - 316 Stainless Steel. 2 Micron size is commonly used to aerate / oxygenate cooled beer wort to promote yeast health. However, it can also be used to carbonate beer. Can be used with aquarium style aeration pumps. We recommend using a "deep water" type of aquarium pump, as those will have enough PSI and flow to produce a steady stream of air throughout the oxygen stone. 3/8" inner diameter tubing slips nice and tight directly right over the thread end of this oxygen stone. Or... screw on a standard 1/4" FFL Barbed fitting / flare, allowing the stone to connect to a 1/4" (inner diameter) barbed hose connection. Do not touch the porous section with fingers, as the oils on skin can plug the pores. If this happens, place the stone in boiling water for 3 minutes to boil off any oil or dirt contaminants. Sanitize the stone in sanitizing solution (such as Star San) prior to immersing into cooled wort. CHARACTERISTICS and SPECIFICATIONS: 2 Micron pore openings 1/2" Diameter. Stone is 1" in Length.
