Our team in CRAFTMAX investigated different methods of whetstone flattening to reach perfect blades sharpening. But we were unsatisfied with what we found.

The reasons are as follow:
- we have tested the sandpaper, but it has unevenness of wearing and low quality of grit;
- we have bought different coarse-grit silicon carbide flattening stones, but it lost the smoothness after more than 20 times of hard passes;
- we tried nagura. An inefficient tool with the main application of creation slurry and cleaning the surface;
- diamond stones, available on the market are very pricey or have a small size and generate sticky surface.

We spent around 1 year, performed number of tests, dealing with masters for approbation and designed the solution.
