Likely the most highly-specified beard/mustache-type scissor produced in Europe, the NTS-Solingen Maylily 450-5 .5 is 5.625-inches in length (this excludes finger rest) and is made from ice-tempered stainless steel (56 HRc Rockwell hardness) which has a micro-serrated edge to provide great cutting control and edge durability. Given the medium length of this model, it will also make an excellent hairdressing scissor for those who like the 'catch-and-cut' style of an edge-corrugated shear (you should not use razor-type hairdressing scissors on beard/mustache hair as the shear will be dulled by the coarse hair quickly). The insides of each scissor blade have been hollow ground like a canoe, to reduce the size of the scissor's contact patch; your scissoring 'action' feels lighter and more precise than other more popular European beard scissors which have flush inner blade planes that yield a higher friction during scissoring. The Maylily also offers a rubber bumper between the rings, (not offered at all on the most popular German moustache scissor) and finger rest (not offered on the carbon steel version of Germany's most popular moustache scissor).
